Hi,
recieved my Finale 2007 two days ago. Finale GPO works. EPS seems to
work (windows xp). But the smart music soft synth playback does not.
Worked fine in 2006. In 2007 I get no sound, and when I open the midi
output dialogue box and try to change the SoftSynth settings, I get
"Cannot initialize SoftSynth playback. Another application may be
using the audio device. Choosing an alternate MIDI Out device will
allow playback."
Even if no other sources use the output of my Creative X-Fi, which
should not be a problem anyway because I never had a problem with
several applications using it at the same time. I switched Windows
sounds to my Hammerfall DSP, but still the same problem in Finale.
And I cannot switch the smart music soft synths to it because the
dialogue box won't open.
Well, surely I can use the Microsoft GS softsynth or the synths of my
Creative X-Fi sound system, or my external synths, but I don't want
to. I can even now open 2006 and use the SmartMusic Softsynths there,
but not in 2007.
Alas, beta-testing again. Any hints?
