Hi Aaron,

What you say may well be true, but I started with a Finale 2007 template, loaded Document Options (with the attendant problem of the font settings not copying over), loaded an expressions library, an articulations library, a chord library (using Bill Duncan's fonts, as do the expression and articulation libraries), and then proceeded to write an arrangement doing everything as I usually do.

That doesn't mean that there is no corruption of files here. It's just that I don't know where it might have come from. I did not start with a converted 2006 file for this project - specifically so that I could try working entirely in the new system.

Other things I have done that might be pertinent:

I use Bill Duncan's special fonts, and I have copied over some of his FAN files from my 2006 folder so that things appear correctly placed with his characters.

I agree that almost any of the things I have encountered would have raised many questions for the beta testers, so I am stymied at the moment. Of course, with the exception of one or two bugs I have found (the only important one being that the Document Options library loses font settings), I imagine the 2007 will work as well as 2006 using the old part extraction methods

I have sent the file and many questions to MM, plowing through the obstacles in the online interface 5 or 6 times to do it. When I hear back from them - probably tomorrow, I'll report in. Meanwhile, Christopher Smith is looking at the file, and I'm going to give it a break until I hear form him or from MM Support, lest I become even more frustrated and crazy.

Thanks all for paying attention to my troubles.

Chuck

Chuck, it sounds to me like you've got things going on beyond garden-variety Fin07 irritations. Maybe it's a corruption in your file, maybe it's something on your machine, maybe it's some specific combination of settings in your document -- but the kinds of things you're describing would certainly have been spotted during the beta if they were commonplace.

Aaron.
