The method you are using will not let you do what you want. Font sizes and measure number attributes are permanently linked between score and all parts in the file.
What you might try is working with two different files -- a score file which lets the score appear exactly as you want it, and a "parts score" which you use to format and print the parts. This way, obviously, you can have different font sizes and so forth in the two different files.
It's true that having two files seems to take away one of the main advantages of linked parts -- namely that you only have to fix mistakes in one place. But many people find that it's still lots better than many separate parts files.
