Measure numbers are one of the "unlinkable" items, so there's nothing
you should be doing that you're missing.
If you have only a single measure number region, though, you can do the
following (I wouldn't suggest it for works which contain more than one
region):
1) define your first region as you want it to show in the score.
2) define your second region as you want it to show in the parts.
3) depending on which you are looking at or trying to print, do the
following:
3a) set the OTHER region so that the first number it will display is
larger than the total number of measures in the piece.
3b) the measure numbers should display as you wish and should print as
you wish.
example:
[score]
region 1 measures 1-275 display at start of system, beginning with
measure 1, call the first measure measure 1, rectangular enclosure, font
size 20pt
[parts]
region 2 measures 1-275 display at start of system, beginning with
measure 300, call the first meaure measure 1, no enclosure, font size 12pt
You would change the "start displaying from measure #" setting depending
on which view you wanted.
It ain't elegant and it would be a royal pain in the arse for a work
with more than a single region, but it's doable for single-region works.
Otherwise you get things set for printing one thing, score or part(s),
then print it, then reset things for the opposite.
I do hope they get measure numbers unlinked, or somehow set so that we
can have two different settings in each region, one as to how we want it
to display in the score and another as to how we want it to display in
the parts. Or simply radio buttons: Score, Parts, Both for each region
we edit.
