I just looked -- I figured that it was a sensible thing to be able to
adjust, and after Tobias told you he thought the program could already
do it, I began to consider what aspect of Finale would that setting be
most likely to affect. Since it only is of importance in page view, I
switched to that and began to think about what aspect of page view it
might be thought of as affecting and the page layout came to mind, then
since it affected whole systems and not just individual staves, I looked
under systems.
I'm sure if we know what arcane terminology the manual authors
considered as we might actually be able to look it up.
I just checked:
Is it under Spacing? no.
Is it under Music Spacing? no.
Is it under Add (for Add extra space)? no.
Is it under E for Extra? no.
Is it under System? no.
A search of the index reveals NO entry for "add extra space."
A search of the index reveals NO entry for "add space."
A search of the index reveals NO entry for "system space before/after
music" (which is the actual menu entry!)
Aren't manual writers wonderful people? Golly I have nothing but
admiration for them. Oops, I meant to say I have nothing, not even
admiration, for them.
Finale would be a fantastic program if it weren't for the marketing
department and the manual writers!
