I'm currently in the process of re-barring a passage of music, and it's
taking for ever. While I acknowledge that this is one area that Finale is
slightly faster than Sibelius, is still painfully slow. Here's what I would
love to see:
A re-bar tool, or even a re-bar mode of the measure tool. With this, I
could double-click between any two notes/beats in a measure and it would
split the measure there and automatically change the time signature.
Alternately, I could select a barline, and hit delete and it would merge the
two measures together, again altering the time signature automatically. To
help Finale with certan time signature decisions, there would be a "Re-bar
options" dialog box, where one could select whether 2/4 or 4/8 was
preferred, or whether a 7/8 was 2+2+3 or 3+2+2, etc.
I would find a function like this infinitely useful. Am I the only one?
