As far as I can tell, the fastest way is to do as you say: generate
all the parts, then delete the ones you don't need.

Sorry, I realize my question wasn't quite very clear (not even for
myself!). And that I was using the wrong button to create my parts
(New Part, instead of Generate Parts, which does indeed give the
correct name to the part). But this raises a new question for me:
is it possible to generate only some of the parts, and not all of
them? I know I can create them all, and then just delete those I
don't need. But I was wondering if I was missing something.
