He's my uncle Bob's son, though for some reason I can't identify,
David has been estranged from his father - and therefor, by default,
most of the rest of us. I always knew him as a bright and nice kid,
when he was young, and a decent musician too, but I haven't seen him
in years.

Actually, my mother's brother, Bob Commanday, whose music reviews
you may have read in SF Chronicle, when you were in Oakland,
although he had retired from that post by the time I remember
joining this list and seeing your posts and some mention of Oakland.
