To all who knew Bill Duncan,
I wished to express my shock and sadness hearing of Bill's passing.
Although I only met Bill once, we spoke occasionally on the phone and
had a great deal of respect for each other.
I wanted to share my experience with how giving Bill was as a person.
After buying several of his fonts, I finally had the pleasure of
meeting Bill at Chuck Israels' place in Bellingham a few years ago.
We spent many hours in our element talking music prep. and everything
Finale. Bill had just finished version 4 of his Productivity Manual
and simply gave both Chuck and me a copy. I was somewhat overwhelmed
and felt the least I could do was offer to proofread the manual for
him in exchange for his kindness. Bill’s only motive was to share his
knowledge and have others he respected benefit from this.
Along with Chuck, Karen and Bob, I feel Bill's fonts and Finale
Productivity Manual is indespensible for the commercial copying
world. I don't know what I would do without Bill's Chord font and
suffixes… truly first rate work!
We’ll miss you Bill.
