Thanks Chuck:

I have a fast piece in 3/4. Occasionally I will write the bass part
half quarter/rest half etc. I like to have this in layer 2 for drums. He may have other things going against that pattern but at least He knows what's going on and can make a choice. I've never thought a lot about this. It is a lot of work.

Thanks, again;

Bob F.

For those of you who are jazz composers/arrangers (Darcy, Christopher S, Carl D, Chuck I). I do drum parts with slashes in layer 1 and cues in layer 4.
It it still a common practice to put any bass cues in layer 2?

Thanks to you all:

Bob Florence
