I'm coming in late to this discussion. In general, yes -- a PDF with fonts embedded should look the same no matter where it is printed.

Partial font embedding, as Leigh described, is not a bad thing. It just means that only the characters from the font which are actually used are embedded in the file, as opposed to embedding the entire font.


Ah. That's it then. *Much* thanks to all who contributed to this thread. Now I just have to decide whether I want to use Lulu, and if so for what, and how.

Sure would be nice, frinstance, to have the *Handbook of Instrumentation* back in hardcover w. dust jacket...
