Sorry, Andrew, I think there may be a misunderstanding.
No, I meant what I said and I said what I meant. To finger a note on
the G string, he wrapped his RH all the way around the back of the neck
and across all the other strings. There was absolutely no mistaking the
appearance of this, and I had discussions about it with several string
players of my acquaintance, who marveled at his ability to play
*anything* that way.
