I don't understand why Apple has mostly managed to make hibernation work (there have been reported problems with wireless networking not waking up), and PC makers seem not to have been able to do so. I urge all my clients to *not* use hibernation, because it simply causes too many problems with peripherals that don't seem to know to wake up along with the CPU. This is particularly bad with USB devices, it seems to me, as well as wireless networking devices. I simply don't think PC hibernation is reliable enough to be of any use, and turn it off on all PCs that I am responsible for. -- David W.
