Two points here (not to jump down your throat or anything!)

I find that notating open and closed hihat on two different pitches is counterintuitive, as it is the same instrument. I think the space above is the best choice, using the standard + and o for closed and open if needed.

Modern Drummer magazine (the closest thing we have to a standard, I suppose) puts the ride on the top line, the crash as you do on the first ledger line. My only objection to this is that drummers notoriously fail to notice the notation is a second higher or lower, and ends up playing the wrong cymbal. For this reason I suggest putting all cymbals on the same space above the staff and identify them when there is a change with a word.

One refinement I like is the use of a circled X head for crash cymbals (and for rimshots on the snare, as it is a similar technique). This helps identify the different technique, rather than a different instrument, which is closer to real life (as a drummer can use any cymbal as a crash.)

Be that as it may, I've never had any complaints from drummers, and when using the standard Finale drum set, the top line gives a round notehead, not an "X".
