I would note, though, that Jef is not correct in his reply to George; the work-around George devised, showing the brace on one system, and stretching it to appear to create a group with to measures of the same staff on separate systems, will work in page view, and might be a good alternative for George's purposes. It did not change the distance between staves or systems.
well i wasn't sure if i understood right what was going on, but you just confirmed that i was actually right.
why not just do it right from the beginning? what i said was that if there are eventually any changes to the distance between the two staves (which might be necessary in doing the layout at some point) and he'll have to adjust the bracket manually. if he does it as i said - as the manual suggests and as everyone using the programme does - he won't have to think about it ever again.
why should you encourage him to make a kludge for something that works perfectly, that's just twisted. save the kludge solutions for when they are really needed (it'll come, george, don't worry!)
