Hey Carl,

Thanks -- I just cleaned all the cleanable parts, including the rollers, but that doesn't seem to have helped in any way.

I'm debating whether to call the Ricoh techs or to order the maintenance kit. Normally, you only need to replace the maintenance kit every 90,000 pages, and I'm only at 38,625. But I'd get a new fuser, transfer roller, pads, and feed rollers -- that might help, right?

First a question -- is this printer misalignment the same in all applications or just Finale? The way you posted, it seems as if it might be all applications, but I just wanted to be sure that there isn't something in the printer driver which might be causing it, rather than the hardware.

That sounds like an expensive kit to buy in order to get a "might help" out of it.

It may be that you've just been using too much heavy paper which is more than the manufacturer expected the typical user to run through the printer. You may end up having to make the same expense every 38,000 pages, if that's the case.

It would be a shame to spend the $300 to call the techs and have them tell you that you need the maintenance kit.

You're in one of those "I'm glad it isn't me having to make that decision" situations!

It might be time to consider a newer printer.
