The project that I am currently preparing has three movements, and for the
first time I'm putting all the movements of a multi-movement work in a
single Finale file. As things stand now my first movement ends with a final
double bar, then shows the key and time signatures for the second movement
at the end of the system. How can I get rid of them?
Also, I have a movment ending where two measures are splayed across the
whole page. I would like to horizonatally downsize them to about one quarter
their current size with white space filling up the rest of the page. How do
I do this?
You really need to do some serious manual reading and tutorial following.
To get rid of the cautionary key and time signatures, use the Measure
Tool and double click on the final measure of the first movement. In
the ensuing dialog, be sure to check the box for "Hide Cautionary Key
and Time Signatures."
Your second problem is likewise solved by the Measure Tool. Click the
handle for the final measure of that movement and drag it to the left.
You may need to drag the barline of the first measure in that line
before dragging the second barline.
May I suggest that you find a way to move those two measures into the
line above (or move some more measures down from previous lines such
that the final line is full and goes all the way across the page), by
moving some other measures around or by choosing a tighter music spacing
algorithm for a few measures? Most published editions don't have their
final line end anywhere other than flush against the right margin.
