I have a movement with the following structure:
A B C where B is repeated after C, but with a different final measure.

I was thinking of using a "D.S. al fine" repeat, but how would I indicate the different ending at then end of B the second time?

Then I'm also wondering if not writing it out is really worth the paper I'll be saving. Aren't backwards turns quite awkward? And then having to jump forward several pages after the second B?

You could have a first ending without a repeat sign and a Fine Ending bar at the end of B, so people play the first ending and then go on into C, and then put the DS al Fine at the end of C. Often it helps if you put text in the first ending in such a setting to the effect of "Go On to C."
