I made a mistake on Maestro K............is was shift L. The font seemed
great but having trouble with the alignment. Maybe your suggestion with the
shape tool could be a better way. I'll try it.

huh? if you are using an existing font character (although i don't know
what the "Maestro K" font is), why not use special tools: note shape tool?
you can adjust the stem connections in relation to the different noteheads
in the doc options: stems: stem connections.
i get the feeling that there might be an easier way to do what you are
trying to do, george, can you post an example online somewhere of what you
want?
