this would be great for creating TACET movements in linked parts as one mega MM rest: the items which would normally break MM rests that are attached to measures (tempi, time sig changes, alternate barlines, repeats etc.) could be ignored. this would have to be obvious that it is an exception, perhaps a big red flashing warning sign when you attempt to do it; with the option to show or not show the starting time sig... and more i can't think of off the top opf my head at the moment...

I have to say that as an orchestral musician I HATE those big tacet parts. I never know how long the darn thing is, and I live in fear that I will miss my entrance, like I did in my very first professional orchestra gig ever because of one of those tacet parts. I don't usually write them myself, unless it is really obvious where the movement ends.
