there's a utility called PopChar that will give you a chart of all
the characters (and their keyboard commands) in all the fonts you
have installed on your computer.
It works for Macs and PCs

Trial and error have found ♪ and ♫ and also £- very useful when
ordering music etc from UK!
And a complete series of accents, umlauts(sp?) etc. again- useful
for French or German contacts.
The whole trial and error thing will take days! I’m up to alt243=
¾ but the list must surely be published somewhere!
