Thanks to all who responded. My problem was that I had omitted a hyphen,
so the missing syllable was in mid-word. I dislike the type into score
solution because then the text in my Edit Lyrics window does not match
the original poem.
It turns out Shift Lyrics with the Rotate option did what I needed,
although I had to manually remove and re-add one lyric assignment.
