Ability to merge several files into one (Score merge), and the new selection tool and copy and paste are the only things that look good to me.
I hadn't asked for these, but they seem significant to me. Not exactly small potatoes for my workflow. And the Score Merge seems to have the ability to do just the thing I was asking about a week or so ago - merge a collection of separate songs into a book in Finale rather than in pdf files, as I had to do to get the results I needed.
I still wonder if there will be an elegant way to attach a score expression to the last measure of a MM rest (without breaking the rest) in a linked part. That's an old bugaboo of mine. Imagine a part with an 8 m. rest with a "to Coda" sign at the end of the 6th m. In extracted parts, you could attach that to the 6m. MM rest (You'd have to put an extra expression there in the part - it would be attached to the first m. of the MM rest, because that's the only one that shows any expressions. The one in the score would be hidden inside the MM rest - assuming you didn't break it.). You could do that without affecting the score - a kludge, but one I have learned to live with. Try the same kludge in a linked part and you get extraneous expressions in the score that have to be hidden. That's more than I want to deal with, so I am left with accepting a 5m. MM rest, one real m. rest with the expression attached, and the the remaining 2m. MM rest. That looks dumb to me, but I am living with it as an artifact of the linked parts.
(BTW, it has been suggested that attaching the expression to the following measure might solve the problem, but that kludge has its own drawbacks.)
