Going back to the original subject, is anyone really happy with the ugly way that "Avoid Chord Symbol Collision" in music spacing affects note spacing? Or is it just me? I find it a real pain to have to selectively redefine and reapply spacing (collision or not) in order to get good-looking charts.

Much of my music uses chord symbols, and I've never found an automatic way to get the spacing right when things get crowded. I have always used hand spacing for this. Of course, the same conditions prevailed in hand copied music, but you'd expect a computer to handle this better than it does. One problem is that the elegant looking solution sometimes involves moving the notes, sometimes the chord symbols, and sometimes a little of each - probably not so easy to program that.
