Yesterday, the wife was expressing frustration at not being able to
open an attachment. It was "winmail.dat". I said that I just always
ignored them, but since she was looking at an email from a person
that could have sent an attachment. I found this site:

which explained that the attachment was just a format file used by
outlook.
If I remember correctly, I don't think that is exactly the problem
you all are dealing with, (I admit I haven't been paying much
attention to this thread) but perhaps scanning this site would give

I'm not noticing any attachments to your posts.
But I'm on a Mac (maybe there is some sort of filter set) or perhaps
the List has been set to filter out attachments automatically.
