Marilyn, I highly recommend EastWest Symphonic Choir.
It's pricy though (around $600) -- less with educational discount. Also it's a steep learning curve. I'm currently using it with Finale, but will switch to Digital Performer, because the mod wheel to midi is very nasty in Finale, and I'm very picky about balances. Bela D also has convincing solo vocal samples, but no choral AFAIK. GPO has choral in the works but only ooh aah right now. But having said that, the results can be extraordinary. Good luck. And wouldn't sound like a high school choir as in General Midi? Thanks for any advice.
