I posted a fix for this a couple of days ago:
Find the file Finale 2008/Help Files/Data/Skinmain/Skin.xml and open
it in a text editor. The second line of this file should start with
"<CatapultSkin". At the end of the line it says:
UseBrowserDefaultSize="False"
(If your text editor wraps long lines for display, this may look like
it's a couple of lines down.) Change the False to True and save the
file. Now when you open Finale 08 help -- either from F1 within
Finale or by opening it directly in your favorite browser -- your
window should stay just the way you had it.
