OK, I did that, making the file name identical to the original (non-loading) file, viz., Clarke.jpg. It still didn't load. I rebooted in genuine System 9 (in case this was a problem w. Classic)--no joy. I tested to make sure previous images (including one I acquired and posted to the internet just a few months ago) would load--and they did. I then used FileTyper Lite to change the problem file's type and creator to be identical to those of the file that would load--but that still didn't help.
