But the process is fraught with all sorts of terrible problems (some 
of which have been fixed in later versions of Finale, some not), such 
as the expressions problem, as well as staff styles. Also there have 
been problems with accidentals and independent time and key 
signatures.

The music I work with is not very adventurous, but I've encountered 
every one of those problems. I've still got lots of pieces that are 
in movement files and being able to automate the process of combining 
them would be a real plus for me. Of course, I'd also have to get a 
new computer, so it's not in the cards for now, but I would 
definitely get a lot of benefit from upgrading.
