Hi all, I have a commission for clavichord duo. The clavichord is an instrument that is one of my favorites (I built one of the venerable Zuckerman kits in 1969, but alas sold it during one of my poorer stretches). This is my first clavichord commission, a very exciting prospect.
So to the question: Is there a standard notation for Bebung on the clavichord? Since this is not a period piece, I can't depend on tradition to guide its use. I have seen tremolo notation to be interpreted as Bebung, but I'm interested in a clearer set of symbols that indicate traditional Bebung (slow-to-fast tremolo), slow Bebung (the equivalent of a guitar finger pull), arpeggiated Bebung (overlapping), and modifications to these that may come up as I write the piece. Both existing practices and creative ideas welcome! Dennis _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
