So to the question: Is there a standard notation for Bebung on the
clavichord? Since this is not a period piece, I can't depend on tradition
to guide its use.
I found it! In Donnington (p. 511), quoting CPE Bach and D.G. Türk.
it is a series of articulation dots over a longer
note (examples show from 4 to 7), with or without
a slur over them. Or, individual notes on the
same pitch (for, I guess, a measured bebung),
each with an articulation dot over it, all under
a slur (or tie?).
How to do this in Finale is an exercise left to the student!
Türk notes that "This ornament can only be
performed on a clavichord, and indeed on a very
good one," so I think this is what you're looking
for.
