I agree. I have also tried Simple on several occasions, and I've even tweaked my keymap to make things suit me better. I concede the flexibility of being able to enter things like accidentals as you go, which you can't do in Speedy -- but that's not how I work, anyway.

In terms of plain note entry, I think Speedy has two big advantages over Simple:

1. For me, working just on the computer keyboard, it is much more intuitive to select pitches using the keys as a 3-octave keyboard, rather than having to hunt and peck for the note names.

2. I find it much more intuitive to select pitch first and then duration (Speedy) rather than duration first and then pitch (Simple). This is how we think when we write music by hand; the pen moves to the appropriate place on the staff, and then we write the value we want. We don't mentally select a half note, say, and then decide the pitch. (Arguably this would be different for actual engravers, who need to select the appropriate punch first.)
