is there a way to view two pages at once in page view, or to have a single page have two columns of music? (i'm using page view with forced system breaks every 4 measures to help me think about the phrase structure of a

In View menu, Show>Multiple Pages. Or on my Mac, the shortcut is command-/

The infuriating thing about this, though (which is why I never use it) is that you still can ONLY edit the page that is showing the number in the lower scroll bar to the left. You can click on the page 2 all you like, but you can't actually DO anything to it until you page down. It's like a ghost page, maybe for comparison purposes only.

If you want to edit BOTH pages alternately, then open up a second instance of the window (Window menu, right beside the Tool menu, and select New Window.) You will have two windows of the same document open, and edits in one will appear in the other, and you can have them set to different views. I DO use this quite a bit. On Mac you can toggle between the two windows with Command-` (that's the tilde key below the Esc key.) I don't know the equivalent Windows command.
