Thanks for the list Christopher and thanks Noel. I'm not having any
of these
issues so I guess I should count myself lucky. I would hate to see the
things you are seeing. In your case is the corruption in the files
or is it
really the libraries or is it hard to tell? One last question, are
you Mac
or Win?
Thanks for your info.

I'm on Mac OSX 10.4.11, Finale 2008a or whatever the latest update is.
I can't tell what is going on, but I notice more corruption when I
import old libraries, so I stopped doing it. So far, no problems
importing libraries saved from 2008. File corruption still occurs,
but I am gradually seeing less as (I assume) I am removing things
that cause corruption.
I noticed that if I used an old file as a template (the new Setup
Wizard allows you to do that; it looked like a great feature) then I
am more likely to result in a corrupted file. If I start using only
the Finale default file, I see a lot less corruption. Maybe the files
I was using as a template were already corrupted, or maybe Finale
doesn't like opening old files. Both scenarios are likely, IMHO.
There isn't much to do about opening up old files to work on, though,
which is where I still see the majority of my problems.
Christopher
