Hi Nick,

The TrueType fonts are, generally speaking, in worse shape than the PS fonts (on Mac, at least), so supplying only TrueType versions would actually be a massive step backward for Mac users.

However, in the case of the fonts under discussion (Rehearsal and RehearsalSans), both TrueType and Postscript fonts are faulty.

The fonts need to be fixed by someone who knows their way around fonts. Perhaps you'd be willing to kick in an NPC gift certificate for anyone who successfully fixes the problem?

Cheers,

- Darcy

Hi all,
I did get a chance to follow the discussion of the
issue with Bill's fonts but I just haven't had time to
get to the bottom of what was originally wrong. In the
future I think I would only supply the TTF versions, as
that should be cross-platform and high-enough quality.
So I'm not sure whether that would help people...
I know, it's a bit like saying you have to have Vista in
order to run a particular piece of software.
I did get as far as starting on the "Fonts and Encodings"
book from O-Reilly but it's ~1,000 pages...
If someone can clear this up, I'd be happy to make the
materials available within the terms of the licensing
agreement, so that everyone is up-to-date.
