If it was printed to PDF from a notation program, then there are
utilities that seem to be pretty good (Can someone supply a name of
one? I never have to do that.)
If it was scanned in, don't even bother with the various scanned
music utilities, as they result in so many wrong notes and missed
items that editing them into legibility takes longer than entering
them from a new document. Sorry for the bad news.
