The first thing to do is to delete your Finale preference file. I'm
pretty sure this file has become corrupted. Restart Finale, and it
should open without your preferences. You will have to rebuild them,
after which I suggest keeping a copy of the preference file in another
location so that, if this reccurs, you can simply replace the
corrupted file with a clean copy.
This was a regular occurance for me before MM clearly communicated
that any re- formatting of the main tool pallet on the Mac side caused
this problem.
It's been a while, so I'm not sure where the pref file is. I think
it's in User/Libraries/Preferences

I run Finale 2008 on an iMac, OS 10.5.8...up until this morning,
everything has been working fine. All of a sudden this morning, when
I try to launch Finale, it crashes on me. When I try to open a file,
or open the Finale application, it stops at "Initializing Floating
Windows", the I get the message "The Application Finale 2008 quit
unexpectedly".
I ran disk doctor to correct permissions, etc, and I still can't
open Finale 2008. Any suggestions? This is really unnerving!
Thanks,
