Darcy!
Thanks! That was it, I had to NOT have anything in Layer 1. I did go
back and enter whole rests as expressions (auto-placement, gotta love
it!) and I did also have ONE note infringing on a measure with real
notes, but I entered it as an expression and all was well. I could
even edit the slur so that it touched the note correctly.
Thanks for this. I wish it was easier.

Hi Chris,
I'm assuming you have the usual settings -- in Edit Voicings:
Flute 1 = Selected Notes From One or More Layer(s); In Measures
Containing a Single Layer Display Top Note; Multiple Layers = Layer 1
Flute 2 = Selected Notes From One or More Layer(s); In Measures
Containing a Single Layer, Display Bottom Note; Multiple Layers =
Layer 2
If you do this, cues in Layer 4 will show up correctly, provided
you remove the real whole rests created by the TGTools Add Cue
Notes plugin (wish there was an option to have TGTools *not* create
them in the first place). You can add whole rests as auto-
positioning measure-attached expressions if you really want, though
I personally think whole rests during cued passages are just
unnecessary clutter.
The only problem is when you want to have cued notes and real notes
in the same measure. There is no way to do this with voiced linked
parts. As with grace notes, in this situation you have no choice
but to extract out the parts.

I can't believe this is the first time I am dealing with this, but
it is the case.
I have Flute 1 and Flute 2 on the same staff in the score, set to
use the TOP note or Layer 1 for Flute 1, and the BOTTOM note or
Layer 2 in Flute 2 for the parts.
The problem is the oboe cue. It appears in the score in Layer 4,
which means it doesn't get included in EITHER flute part, plus the
whole rests added in the score in Layer 1 are cluttering up the
Flute 1. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it
appear in the parts, since I won't get multiple layers ever in
either of the flute parts.
What is the usual way of dealing with this? I can't find any
mention of this specifically in the docs. Do I have to extract the
part and forego linked parts for this tune?
