the score merger tool is something i have never used and never explored.

i have a client who wants 5 files cleaned up (5 individual movements of a children's opera), fairly straight ahead notation, ensemble plus 6 voices and choir. possibly a total of about 100pp in A3/tabloid once done. files were created in F1997 and we are both now working in F2010.

he wants just functional and usable files from which parts will be extracted, doesn't have to be fancy, just legible and usable files. as i understand some editing may be done following my work but it won't be major.

is it worth merging the files, or should i just standardize the layout and part generation prefs (do 1 file and transfer doc options) so the appearance and functionality is consistent across all files?

i'm thinking just standardizing the files would be best, in order to have to avoid having to proof for errors in score merging, but i don't know how clean the score merger tool really is, maybe i am worrying for nothing.
