I have the VPC system and have used it a few times with good results. Securing the edge of the inside pages of a booklet by sticking the edge (only the thickness of the paper stock) to the adhesive tape seems to be a risky way of making a part (this is for orchestra/chamber music style parts - not for "commercial" accordion fold parts), but I have been surprised at how well they hold up in normal handling. I would hesitate to use the system for a score. I also use the VPC tape for attaching the pages of accordion fold parts. It comes pre-cut in various lengths, is easy to remove for repositioning in case of a misalignment before the pressure sensitive adhesive sets, and soon becomes securely attached. It's only drawback is that it's relatively expensive.
