In my experience, sound systems rarely work as advertised to solve problems

Neither do musical instrument, unless the players have put in the work to learn the knowledge and skills that it takes to play them. That's all I'm saying. Sound Techs are (or SHOULD be) musicians, too, and the sound systems are their instruments.

As to solving "problems," sometimes they can be solved, sometimes they're intrinsic and can't be. But a smart Tech knows which is which. Or what it would actually cost to deal with them.
