Hmm - As I was checking one of the links (http://lomusicians.org/) on my previous post, it looks like there is a new legal hassle going on, which I won't go into, but I don't want to be a party in it!
Let me just completely retract my previous statement that members of the National Symphony are playing in this concert on February 18 that includes my composition *Make Gentle the Life of This World*. Below is how I am now listing the concert on my website - I'll just include some *non-related *info about the National Symphony's Louisville visit! Relevant links (if not working mp3 samples, dang it) will still be found on: rayhortonmusic.com Upcoming Performance of Music by Raymond Horton: *Make Gentle the Life of This World* *"A Celebration of Symphonic Music in America"* Joint concert by "Keep Louisville Symphonic" (the professional symphony musicians of Louisville) and "Musicians from our Nation's Capital." *(The National Symphony Orchestra is playing concerts in Louisville on Thursday and Friday evenings, February 17-18.)* Jason Seber, Conductor Louisville Marriott Downtown Hotel, 280 West Jefferson, Louisville, KY 40202 Friday, February 18, 2011, 5:30 PM --- previously listed: --- *Make Gentle the Life of This World* National Philharmonic Orchestra Of Trinidad and Tobago National Academy for the Performing Arts, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad Saturday, February 26, 2011 ---- *Make Gentle the Life of This World* The Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sheldon Bair Bel Air High School, 100 Heighe Street, Bel Air, MD, 21014, Saturday, May 21, 2011, 7:30 PM ---- Commissioned by the Cheaha Dance Alliance, Robin Bauer, Coordinator: *Fire and Freedom* (Premiere) *A Dance Drama inspired by the events* in Anniston May 14th, 1961 *(*attack and bombing of the first Freedom Riders Bus) Cheaha Dance Alliance Choir and Instrumental Group conducted by the composer Anniston Performing Arts Center 1301 Woodstock Avenue Anniston, AL 36207 Monday, May 9, 2011 7:00 PM Please come and hear any and all performances! I hear Trinidad is wonderful (I wish I could make that one, myself, but I have to play a concert here!). I will be (playing) at the Louisville performance, will be attending and speaking at the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, (looking forward to that one very much - it will be conducted by o-list member and good friend Sheldon Bair), and I will be conducting in Anniston, AL. (The Freedom Riders survived that first attack - I do hope all of us involved survive the fiftieth anniversary.)
