Thank you, Jeri, but there is no staff style applied. I don't fully understand Score Manager yet so I didn't have any change from that either. I tried copying the problem area to my CLipboard and inserting it into a new document. Setup Wizard handled everything perfectly and the string passages played just fine. I was encouraged and prepared chalk it up to the conversion process of that file. So I captured the entire document from my clipboard and used insert to create anew. However it repeated the problem. Big sigh. So, would anyone with 2012 like to look at my file and see if you can find the problem?
