I continue to have problems getting metatools--specifically articulation
metatools--to work. In past projects these have worked perfectly, but suddenly
now they won't work. Each metatool seems to program just fine, but when I try
to use them they rarely work. For example, I like to use numbers 1-5 for piano
fingering numbers, but have to click on a note many, many times to get an
occasional fingering number to appear. Often, the number I'm attempting to
enter changes a previous finger number (that finally worked) instead of the
note I'm actually clicking.

Today, I upgraded to Finale 2012 for Windows XP2 on my Dell Latitude D830
laptop, and still no luck in getting the metatools to work more than
occasionally. Very frustrating. Could it be a hardware problem? A memory
problem? Windows XP blocking macros? My security programs blocking macros
(Sophus, CC Cleaner, SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes AntiMalware)? I've read
advice to Mac users that they can discard a corrupt preferences file to
sometimes correct this bug. What takes the place of the Mac Preferences file
in Windows machines?

I'd so much appreciate help with this.

Sincerely,

Patricia Spedden
