Owing to my background in pre-DTP typesetting, I'm in the habit of always thinking of my music in terms of absolute sizes on the page. That's the main reason I resisted system reduction when it was introduced and stuck with page reduction. The math is much easier that way. For the same reason. I always enter all margins and distances as numbers, never dragging. Horizontal positional uncertainty doesn't bother me much, I suppose because the systems are essentially justified anyway, but for vertical positions I'm uncomfortable if I don't know exactly where any line sits on the page.
