Re: Christopher – Nope, I thought this was the problem at first as well, as I've encountered it before, and it was among the first steps I tried. No luck, and same with all the other solutions I found on the makemusic forum (prefs, duplicates, new user, some copying utility et al).
Re: Eric – maestro is in the system fonts folder; I keep the user fonts folder empty. There is only one copy that appears in font book. Permissions appear to be correct, read/writable by everyone. I'm using the truetype version only, but I deleted and tried installing the postscript versions to no avail. I feel as if i've been rather comprehensive! Quite frustrating...
