Not really dependent on technology. A page-turner can do the same thing. Happened to a good friend and colleague, who was accompanying a flute soloist on a very fast piece. He had to improvise about half a page of accompaniment while the turner figured it out, and as he left the stage was heard to mutter something about, "Get him a copy of 'L'art de tourner la page!!!'" > >The other involved a pianist whose iPad crashed >just before a performance. Poorly-aimed air conditioning will do it. But when I joined the USAF Band they were still taking about a time when Col. Howard had made a grand entrance via helicopter, turned around to give the downbeat, and the prop wash had blow all the stands over! However, point taken. It's just that screwups are nothing new.
