You must not have had "Use Spelling Tables" turned on. Try turning that on, and then enter a G melodic minor scale with a key signature of Bb major, then with a key signature of G minor. You'll see that in Bb, it's spelled with a Gb, and in G minor, it's spelled with an F#.
