it wasn't a corrupt prefs file, i quit and moved the prefs file to a "safe location", rebooted everything, a new prefs file was generated and i still couldn't enter new music. ran data check to remove deleted items, nothing.
quit everything, reinstalled my backed up prefs file, opened the document and erased 100 measures across all 88 staves, returned to the start of the score, can now enter music. i simply ran out of room. pfffffffffff. so now the question is how best to organize this, since i have never worked with multiple files for the same project before. i am thinking: - set up linked PTs before going any further - make a copy of the SC, name them SC_part1 and SC_part2 (or something) - keep the measures intact (although a pain for PT extraction, is there any reason to do this?) - erase data from the 1st third or so of the piece in part1 and the last third in part2 so there is an overlap (thinking about making PTs easier to manage) any clever advice would be greatly appreciated :-) _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
