not to mention it being reactionary and in fact completely beside the point.

alto clefs (ever heard of this instrument called the viola?) and 
tenor (bsn, vc, cb) clefs figure prominently in concert pitch scores. 
some people may not use them here or there (or at all), but i don't 
see how you can jump to make such a condescending remark that just 
because the score is in concert pitch, the "advocate" can't read C 
clefs.

they are in fact essential in many cases.  i am working on a score 
that has 12-tone, 1/4-tone, 1/8-tone and even 1/16-tone passages, 82 
players, incl. 50 strings all notated on separate staves.  i think no 
conductor on earth would prefer a transposed score here.  he would be 
my hero if he did though (e.h., 4cl, 3hn, 4tpt to extract).
